Type II Conventional Anodizing as per MIL-A-8625
 

The most commonly performed type of anodizing used in general industry due to its cost to value ratio, visual appeal and corrosion protection characteristics.

Available in Clear (undyed), Black, Red, Blue, Olive Green

Type III Hardcoat Anodizing as per MIL-A-8625

Hardcoat anodizing provides several desirable qualities such as excellent corrosion resistance, high durability/ abrasion resistance and electrical insulation properties.

Available in Clear (undyed), Black, Red, Blue, Olive Green

ALODINE 5200 (RoHS Compliant)

The US Department of Defense specifies Alodine 5200 as a coating to improve adhesion properties of aluminum components.  Alodine 5200 coatings produce a clear/faintly blue finish which provides an excellent adhesive base for further coating such as paint or epoxy. 

Alodine 5200 is RoHS compliant and does not contain any restricted substances so is well suited to environmentally sensitive products

TCP / Trivalent Chromium Passivation as per MIL-DTL-5541, formally MIL-C-5541 (RoHS Compliant).  Sub-spec of MIL-DTL-81706

TCP was developed by the US Navy as a safer alternative to Hexavalent Chromium based coatings.  TCP is used as a stand alone coating for aluminum components, as well as for an adhesive base for paint or epoxy coatings on aluminum products

Magnesium Conversion Coating (RoHS Compliant)

AST has developed a RoHS compliant, non-hexavalent chromium based magnesium coating system to improve paint adhesion, as well as improve corrosion protection on magnesium components
